BMABA Membership Terms & Conditions
1.) Eligibility :
We don’t expect anything extraordinary or far-fetched – just the basic requirements that will ensure your
students are safe. You must hold the following;
1.
A valid teaching qualification, black belt or the equivalent time-served experience & level of training of a
black belt if you are participating in an un-graded style.
2.
If you do not hold a black belt you must be able to provide written consent from your [chief] instructor
stating that the are happy you have the knowledge, experience and due diligence to teach and instruct un-
supervised.
You must also meet the following criteria;

You must be able to teach & work with children & vulnerable adults
4.
You must be able to pass a DBS check (formally the CRB)
5.
You must be at least 18 years of age
6.
You need to be able to agree to our membership terms and conditions (that you’re reading right now)
We feel the above is not unsubstantiated and merely ensures you meet the basic requirements of a professional
working in our industry.
2.) Duty To Disclose :
We don’t want to operate a ‘stop and search’ program through our Association in which we need to check,
double check & check once again any and all certification, licenses, grades & qualifications we’re presented with.
We prefer to operate on ‘utmost good faith’ just as the insurance industry often does. This means we will (to a
certain degree) except the qualifications and experience you claim to have unless we have reason to believe
otherwise.
This said, it’s entirely your responsibility to ensure you are of a sound level of professionalism, appropriately
qualified to a minimum standard, holding all the appropriate and necessary documentation, training & licenses
and disclose only true facts throughout any applications and / or purchases.
We do reserve the right to request proof of grades at any point & frequently hold ‘spot audits’ and checks. If you
can’t provide documentation or evidence of training, qualifications or grades & you haven’t got a good enough
reason for not being able to do so we will terminate your membership.
